Apart from various services provided by the department, it is also involved in various research activities through:

  • Identifying various research problems are in the thrust area.
  • Undertaking various projects in view of emerging trends.
  • Encouraging student’s projects.
  • Evidence based nursing practice and identified areas of research in the field of psychiatric nursing.
  • Various publications, presentations and dissemination ofthe results of those in different conference, journals and books.

Contribution to Health Care

  • Helping the students to be key personnel to appreciate the client as a holistic individual and develop skill function as a psychiatric nurse specialist.
  • School mental health program.
  • Creating public awareness by conducting rallies and mass education programmes.
  • Celebrating mental health day, world suicide prevention day, Alzheimer’s day.
