Research Activities

The department of MSN faculty and students extend their hands in research activities to initiate and conduct research in existing and emerging issues of Medical and Surgical Nursing. The department of MSN emphasizes on evidenced based practice in non-pharmacological intervention and pays special attention to conduct research towards the empowerment at health issues affecting society (e.g., HIV, TB, etc) and emerging trends.

  1. A comparative study to assess knowledge on CPR between the nurses working in critical areas and general wards at MGMC & RI Hospital .
  2. A study to assess the knowledge on Organ Donation among higher secondary school teachers working in Puducherry.
  3. A descriptive study to assess the mental status of Senior Citizens in the selected rural areas of Seliamedu, Puducherry.
  4. A descriptive study to assess the knowledge and attitude towards HIV / AIDS among the nursing students in KGNC, Puducherry.
  5. A comparative study to assess the Nurse’s knowledge of Current Trends in the treatment of cancer among staff nurses in MGMC & RI, Puducherry. 
  6. A study to assess the knowledge regarding Prevention Measures of TB among the caretakers of the patients with TB admitted in MGMC & RI, Puducherry.

CONS ULTANCY SERVICES

The department of MSN faculty guides the under graduate and post graduate students in their projects and dissertation. Medical Surgical Nursing PG students from other colleges are given content validity by our eminent faculty for their dissertation. The faculty members from MSN also give an informal consultation to their friends in relation to establish departmental lab.
