Faculty Recruitment Committee
The Faculty Recruitment committee of KGNC, is the process of actively seeking out, finding and hiring candidates for a specific position or job. Recruitment is not only an operational activity but a key strategic activity for the college. It is the process of identifying, attracting, interviewing, selecting, hiring and on boarding employees. In other words, it involves everything from the identification of a staffing need to filling it. Depending on the size of an organization, recruitment is the responsibility of a range of faculty members.
OBJECTIVES
- To standardize and enable enforcement of faculty recruitment processes.
- To identify and recruit highly qualified, talented, and diverse faculty members
- To coordinate a faculty recruitment process that is compliant with search procedures, university policies, and legal and regulatory requirements
- To channel individuals’ time and energy in ways that best match the nature of their appointments and the expertise they bring to the faculty
- To determine a candidate’s suitability for the position it consider the criteria such as the ability to work with diverse students and colleagues or experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, including teacher education, if applicable.
- To identify those candidates’ academic preparation, professional experience, and teaching skills that best correspond with the needs of the programs and Department.
Activities
- Letter from the Principal to the Vice- Principal through the Registrar seeking permission to recruit/ promote faculty members as and when need arises.
- 2After the approval , screening of applications submitted by the candidates is done by the selection committee, with due confidentiality maintained during the process
- Eligible applicants are called for interview from the Human Resource department
- The candidates have to take up a written test and a class room teaching, which is evaluated
- The candidates then appear in front of the interview panel, which constituted based on the UGC guidelines and norms of the University
- The candidates is selected /rejected/promoted based on the decision of the committee
- 7.The Vice-Chancellor approves the finalized list, based on which the appointment/promotion order is provided
Function
- Pool applications of all potential candidates
- Develop question and identify appropriate responses, according to the speciality
- Help in preparation of appropriate teaching practice topics, that would essentially being out the teaching skills of the candidate
- Ensure that all paperwork is submitted to the committee
- Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the process
